Stacey specializes in compliance with federal, state and local laws governing campaigns, which are complex and constantly evolving. Stacey utilizes her expertise, experience and inside knowledge to provide advice in plain language.

Stacey advises clients on all aspects of nonprofit formation, including drafting bylaws and articles of incorporation. She also provides guidance for nonprofit organizations engaging in election and advocacy activity.
Lobbying Compliance
Stacey counsels organizations, lobbyists, lobbying firms on all aspects of federal, state and local lobbying rules, as well as filing lobbyist registrations and periodic reports.
Enforcement
Stacey represents clients in all stages of administrative enforcement actions before the Federal Election Commission (FEC), Fair Political Practices Commission (FPPC), as well as local agencies like the Los Angeles City Ethics Commission.
Education
Stacey regularly conducts training sessions for candidates to educate their legal and ethical obligations. She also supports organizations in providing education for their officers, employees and members.
Meet Stacey
Stacey Shin, founder of Shin Law Corporation, brings more than two decades of experience navigating federal, state and local laws regulating elections and advocacy campaigns.
Stacey advises candidates, elected officials, nonprofits, donors, independent expenditure committees and other political organizations on compliance with federal, state and local campaign finance, election and governmental ethics laws. She also counsels lobbying organizations and lobbying firms on compliance with lobbying laws.
Prior to founding Shin Law Corporation, Stacey served as Partner at Kaufman Legal Group. Previously, she served as Legal Counsel to then-Chairman Steven T. Walther of the Federal Election Commission, where she advised the Chairman on policy and enforcement matters before the Commission.
During her time in Washington, D.C., Stacey also worked for the U.S. House Judiciary Committee, U.S. Senator Tom Harkin, the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Justice Department, and the National Legislative Office of the ACLU.
Stacey received her law degree from the George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C., and earned her undergraduate degree from the University of California, Irvine. She is admitted to the State Bar of California and a member of the Board of the California Political Attorneys Association.
Stacey lives in the Highland Park neighborhood of Los Angeles with her husband Jacob, two kids Hillary and Harrison, and terrier Sawyer.
